PADI Women’s Dive Day 2018 – Cabo San Lucas
On July 21st Dive Ninja Expeditions will be hosting a very special PADI Women’s Dive Day event in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The female dive community has been a huge part of Dive Ninjas since day one. So, this year we wanted to do something special to show our gratitude together with highlighting some of the amazing women working tirelessly to further our understanding of, as well as working hard to protect, our beautiful oceans and the plethora of incredible life they contain.
We have invited the remarkable Frida Lara of Pelagios Kakunjá to join us this July. For Women’s Dive Day 2018 we are crowning Frida an honorary member of Team Ninja! She will be your special guest ninja guide as we head out to explore the Cabo San Lucas Marine Park for 2 dives. Before we head out for the dives, Frida will be giving a special presentation on her current work and this beautifully unique area we call home. A light lunch and refreshments will be served after the presentation as we relax and chat before heading out to the ocean.
And as a big thank you to all female divers, Dive Ninjas is covering the bulk of the bill. For only $15 you get to take part in 2 dives with our special guest guide – Frida Lara, her presentations, a light lunch, and then snacks & refreshments onboard the boat. This event will be limited to only 8 divers so book now before it sells out.
For those who don’t know, Frida Lara Lizardi is originally from Veracruz, Mexico. She completed her degree in Marine Biology in the Yucatan and obtained a Master’s Degree at the prestigious University of London. Frida is particularly interested in studying the behavior, conservation and management of sharks – an animal very near and dear to our ninja hearts! She has been part of the Pelagios Kakunjá team since 2014 and is about to complete a PhD in marine sciences at CICIMAR in La Paz. She has been studying sharks in the Archipelago of Revillagigedo for more than 4 years now, participating in many citizen science expeditions. During one of her internships, she had the opportunity to complete her Dive Master certification in the Galapagos (I think we may be a tiny bit jealous). In addition to her hard work, Frida is an all-around amazing soul and anyone who has shared the ocean with her can attest to it. We at Dive Ninjas are extremely excited to have her involved in this special event.
