Great White Sharks, Sea Dragons, Fur Seals, and Sea Lions!
9 Days Liveaboard Exploring The Best of Southern Australia!
Join us as we venture to the mythical land of the Neptune Islands in South Australia to encounter leafy & weedy sea dragons, sea lions, fur seals, and the king of all sharks–the great white! You’ll have multiple opportunities to experience the great whites up close in both the surface and ocean floor cages. The ocean floor cage is unique to our local operators and is the only one of its kind in the world! Allowing you to experience great whites up close while 20m/65ft underwater on the sea bottom!
We’ll also enjoy exclusive land & boat tours of the islands, as well as guided walks to experience their incredible landscapes and wildlife! Our operator is the only one that holds these special permits to experience the Neptune & Kangaroo Islands like this!
Our host, Jay Clue, will be teaming up with the legendary crew at Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions for this special trip. The founder of RFSE, Rodney, is an Australian shark attack survivor, conservationist, and filmmaker who is world-renowned as the leading authority on great white sharks. He survived a great white shark attack in 1963, invented the first shark-diving cage, and transformed public perception of the species from mindless killers to majestic creatures. He was inducted into the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame in 2007 for his vast contributions to shark education and safety. Today, his family and team carry on his legendary status in the shark world.
Our Ship
Our expedition vessel and home away from home for this trip is the MV Rodney Fox, named after the legend himself. The ship is 32m long and 7.6m wide, with 3 decks of loveliness for you to have the best time on! She boasts a spacious dive deck with an upper deck for shark viewing, as well as an open-plan saloon and galley. She’s also equipped with a brand new tender boat for island tours and sea lion & sea dragon dives.
The ship has 3 different room types on board. A Master Suite for couples located on the upper deck with a private ensuite bathroom. There are also 6 upper deck cabins with a double and a single bed in a bunk configuration. And 2 lower deck cabins with 2 single beds in a bunk configuration. Please note that only the Master Suite has an ensuite bathroom. The rest of the rooms have shared bathrooms located on the upper deck and dive deck.
Our ship will depart from Port Lincoln in South Australia, which is easily accessed by air from Adelaide International Airport by QANTAS and Regional Express. Transfers are included with your booking from local hotels and the airport on the day of departure, as well as on our return to land. We’ll be boarding the ship before 1 pm and will return around 7 pm. This is a bit different from our normal trips, but it actually allows us to sneak in extra days of diving and adventures!
