Dive Ninjas Receives PADI 5 Star Dive Center Award in Cabo San Lucas
Three short years ago, Dive Ninja Expeditions began in a home office with an idea for a new approach to tourism which would blossom into our ninja-level dive training program. Today, we are super excited to announce that we are hanging the PADI Five Star Dive Center emblem on the front door of our office in downtown Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Read on to find out how we got here, what’s next, and how we want to celebrate with YOU-the divers that helped us achieve this incredible milestone!
What is the first thing you want to do when you witness the most beautiful experience that you have ever encountered? Share it with someone, of course! Then, maybe more of us will be moved to protect the beauty of that experience for others to witness well into the future. This is how our ninja-level training program was born: to share our passion and knowledge of diving, inspire other divers, and equip them with the skills and opportunities to help protect and conserve this incredible ecosystem. Now, PADI is recognizing our contributions to the dive community with the highest honor of excellence and we couldn’t be more proud! Just over 1 year ago, we became a PADI dive center, connecting our unique programs to the largest global dive community with the highest standards of diver training. Today, we are happy to announce that we have achieved the PADI 5 Star level for our conservation-based training approach, and our commitment to quality and the community above and below the surface here in Cabo San Lucas & Baja California Sur, Mexico.
What is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center?
PADI explains that “PADI Five Star Dive Centers are progressive dive shops that provide a full range of PADI scuba diving education programs, equipment selection and experience opportunities, while encouraging aquatic environmental responsibility. These businesses excel in providing quality services to divers, present a professional image and actively promote the benefits of recreational scuba diving, snorkeling, dive travel, and environmental protection. PADI Five Star Dive Centers embrace the PADI System of diver education and offer regular continuing education programs to ensure divers have the opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge. These dive businesses are active in the community and are committed to providing customer satisfaction along with great dive experiences.”
What does this mean for us?
This is huge news! It will enable us to expand our platform and extend our mission to a greater audience. Allowing us to keep pushing to change diving from a service-based tourism industry to a conservation- based ecotourism industry with our educational opportunities, citizen-science expeditions, and conservation projects. Divers of all levels, from beginner to technical, can get certified with a team of experienced ninja instructors with PADI’s comprehensive dive curriculum in the place that Jacques Cousteau himself nicknamed “The World’s Aquarium.” Come and check out the ninja difference from our work with local researchers, plant-based lunches prepared by local chefs, and plastic-free alternatives along with our Project Aware conservation courses and Dive Against Debris community events.
