Scuba Diving Expeditions in Baja California

Explore ‘The World’s Aquarium’

Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez “the world’s aquarium,” for its unparalleled abundance of marine life. The seas around Baja California host over 900 species of fish, thousands of invertebrates, and a wide array of marine mammals. They are perhaps the most densely populated meeting grounds for migratory species in the world. It is a land of contrasts, boasting some of the greatest diversity of sea life on the planet. But above the water, backdrops of gorgeous rocky, desert mountains reach up to the clouds while forests of cactus spread across the valleys, and beautiful sunsets & star filled nights ignite the sky.

Cabo San Lucas

Spectacular sights such as schools of friendly mobula rays, octopus, morays, colorful nudibranchs, and more await you in Cabo San Lucas. Stunning dive sites are just a quick boat ride away. In the evenings, enjoy breathtaking sunsets and cozy up next to a bonfire on one of Cabo’s pristine beaches. Every winter thousands of majestic humpback whales migrate here to give birth and mate before heading back north to the arctic.  Check out our article on scuba diving in Cabo San Lucas here. Cabo Pulmo National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage site, Cabo Pulmo National Park is teeming with aquatic life which is why the tiny fishing village located a 2 hour drive East of Cabo is widely known for its incredible diving. While scuba diving in Cabo Pulmo, we often spot bull sharks or giant grouper and find ourselves enveloped by massive schools of fish that extend as far as the eye can see. Imagine being completely surrounded by a tornado of thousands of snapper and jack so densly packed that they block out the sun above…you have to see it to believe it!

La Paz

Enjoy the pristine waters where you will see a variety of critters both large and small. While scuba diving in La Paz, we frequently spot  turtles, mobula rays, nudibranchs, pipe fish, and sharks. At Los Islotes dive site in La Paz, we often find ourselves swimming alongside sea lions whose curious pups will come right up to us and try to play mischievous games of tug of war with equipment. Also in La Paz, we have the unique opportunity to snorkel with whale sharks and/or visit Balandra bay, which is rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world.  Check out some of the photos from past expeditions in our photo gallery below.

Blue Water Shark Trips

Want to swim with sharks? We can also arrange blue water shark snorkeling trips with the folks from Cabo Shark Dive. During these trips we can see several species of sharks including hammerheads, silkies, makos, and blues as well as big predatory fish like tuna, mahi mahi, marlin and more.
