Cocos Island Shark Conservation Expedition

A Liveaboard Trip of a Lifetime

Cocos Island is consistently named one of the top 3 diving destinations in the world. This extremely remote island off the coast of Costa Rica is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site and known as “the most beautiful island in the world” by Jacques CousteauHere, hundreds of hammerhead sharks gather at most dive sites around the island! On top of that, we’ll look out for manta rays, tiger sharks, white tip sharks, whale sharks huge schools of jacks, and so much more. There’s almost too much to see at Cocos Island.

Cocos benefits from several deep ocean currents, which bring an abundance of food and pelagic animals to the area. Land-side is just as impressive with lush tropical forests and even lost Spanish gold, which has become part of the island’s pirate lore. Altogether, this makes for the perfect Dive Ninja expedition.

Join Dive Ninjas and Costa Rica’s top shark scientists, Marta Cambra Agusti for this special Shark Conservation Ninjas Expedition. We are offering a special $500 early booking discount, so reserve your spot today. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] or +1-973-619-9976 with any questions.

Special Expedition Features

Cocos Island, or Isla de Cocos in Spanish, is a once in a lifetime dive destination, and on top of that, we’ve invited one of Costa Rica’s top shark scientists, Marta Cambra Agustí along for the adventure. Her current research focuses on setting protocols for shark & ray tourism. She’s also advocating for research expansion to all of the Marine Protected Areas in Costa Rica. During this trip, Marta will teach us about her research through presentations and workshops so we can all learn more about the shark population inhabiting the waters around Cocos Island. She’ll also give us a virtual encounter via her BRUV’s (Baited Remote Underwater Videocameras).

The week will start with a special PADI AWARE Shark & Ray Conservation course taught by Marta and Dive Ninjas own, Jay Clue. This course is complimentary, and you will receive the certification card in the mail when you return from the trip. Plus Dive Ninja will be making a donation on your behalf to support PADI AWARE and the important work they are doing for shark conservation.

As part of the land portion of the trip, we’ll visit the island for a walk through the tropical forests and explore one of the many lovely waterfalls. During this walk, we’ll be on the lookout for incredible flora and fauna and have many photo opportunities.

Before the end of the trip, the Dive Ninja team will hold a game and raffle to help raise money for the Cocos Island Park Rangers. Donations help them continue their work in protecting the sharks and other animals that call the island home. You will get the chance to win cash and other prizes from Dive Ninjas and Aggressor Liveaboards.

Finally, our infamous Crap Photo contest will happen at the end of the week, so get ready for some craptastic prizes! Plus, Jay Clue will tune into his inner pirate for the talk about ‘Pirates & Buried Treasure of Cocos Island’ – so don’t forget your eye patches!
